Welcome to the Beehive Montessori School

We have the honour of leading an amazing team of educators in delivering authentic Montessori education to students from 18 months to 15 years.

We have a long and happy history as members of the Beehive community. This is a wonderful community to be a part of and we hope you get a sense of this as you explore our website.

We believe that education is a lifelong process of self-discovery and that learning should be a joyful experience. Our experiences as both Montessori parents and teachers have led us to believe that Montessori is the most effective and successful model of education available today to meet this end.

While many psychologists have studied children and devised theories about their development, very few went a step further as Dr Montessori did, who envisaged a curriculum which met these needs in a classroom setting. Montessori revolutionised the concept of education, by devising a system which put the student at the centre of learning, as opposed to the historical industrial model of education which focused on the role of the teacher.

Education in a Montessori sense, relates to a much greater vision for the child than simply learning to read and write. Our aim is to nurture independence in our students so that they find their place in, and contribute to a better world.
