Established in 1977, the Beehive Montessori School is a well- established and recognised Montessori School situated in modern, purpose-designed premises beside the sea in Mosman Park, Western Australia. The Beehive Montessori School educates over 200 students aged from 3 years to 15 years, and also runs a well-established playgroup for children aged 18 months to 3 years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Beehive Montessori School is inviting applications from experienced School Receptionists. This is a full-time position with 4 weeks annual leave, commencing January 2024.  Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

Located on the front desk of our administration building, you will act as the first point of contact for general enquires and correspondence for the School and coordinate the reception of visitors, contractors, volunteers, families and guests in a professional and friendly manner.

In this role you will also provide administrative support to staff and coordinate general administrative activities which support the day to day operational effectiveness of the School, including managing and collating our newsletters, website and other school correspondence. You will work as part of the administrative team to ensure delivery of high-quality customer service to staff, parents and students, and as such this can be a demanding role.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in both oral and written communication with a well-developed cross-cultural sensitivity, diplomacy and a friendly manner
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • High level of computer literacy using a range of programs such as MS Office applications
  • Proven ability to coordinate and manage a complex array of commitments, maximising time management to achieve optimal output
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity across all functions
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to use discretion, initiative and knowledge to determine appropriate actions
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
  • Holding a current Working with Children Check and a recent National Police Clearance
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of school management software such as  TASS
  • Experience using Mail Chimp, Word Press, School Stream (or similar applications)
  • Experience within the education sector
  • An awareness of occupational health and safety hazards and compliance
