School Council

Council has been very active in Term 2. We have developed and sent out a detailed Parent Satisfaction Survey and held a very productive Forum on School Governance. Detailed reports relating to each of these things will be published next term.

New councillors have settled into their roles well and Jill Dare and Lee Wedderburn are especially to be commended for their dedication and seemingly tireless efforts.

Council meetings have been well attended by parent observers - in fact there have been several occasions where councillors have been out numbered! Last night's council meeting was no exception. A variety of issues were discussed - including the Governance Forum, the Wizard School, the possibility of building a ramp up from Curtin Avenue, an Alumni newsletter/School magazine and ways in which communication within our School Community can be improved.

Next term promises to be very exciting, with Rhonda's return and a full briefing on the way forward with regard to the proposed Middle School. This will undoubtedly impact on the School's Strategic Plan, which will be the subject of a special forum. We will also be organising a special meeting to discuss fundraising, which is itself a strategic issue for the School. This will probably take place after the Strategic Planning Forum when we will have a better idea of what the School's financial needs are.

Council is working very hard to listen to parents' concerns and make the School an even more wonderful environment for our children. There is always room for improvement, but we encourage everyone to celebrate what we have achieved so far.
