Camps & Excursions
Children of all ages need to be
allowed the opportunity to investigate the community in
which they live, and camps and excursions aim to enlarge
the children's experience in this respect.
Excursions and field trips give the children the chance
to examine at first hand geographic, historical and
economic concepts in realistic
settings.
For children 9 years and over, a
camp of approximately five days is envisaged every year,
the emphasis to be on exploring natural environments and
investigation of communities. The aim is also to develop
the children's independence, self-confidence and
community skills.
For children 6 - 9 years, camps lasting
two to three days have also been organized fairly
regularly and have been very
successful.
