La Casa Contenta

Once again we reach the end of a busy and productive term. I think the highlight of the term for all of us was the visit to Farmer Wendy in Jandakot. Wendy’s enthusiasm, organization and knowledge ensured that all the children were able to participate in all the farmyard activities to the full extent of their capabilities. It is so important that young children get the opportunity to interact with and learn about a variety of different animals in a safe and beautiful environment such as this.

It was also a pleasure to share the experience with the parents who were able to join us.

The children have also enjoyed discussing the characteristics and differing needs of animals.

Our virtues this term have been consideration and cleanliness, the latter one being particularly relevant in the last two weeks.

In the second week of June we had Jessica Paech, a first year E.C.U. student with us, doing her first prac. teaching unit. Although she was only with us for a few days the children really responded to her and we all look forward to having her back in the classroom for three weeks at the end of the year.

With quite a few children having been sick in the latter part of this term, the holidays will provide the opportunity for them all to recuperate fully and regain their energy ready for next term.

Geraldine and I would like to thank all our parents for their support this term and we wish you all a safe and happy holiday.
