Artist in Residence

The Beehive Montessori School is seeking expressions of interest from local artists to undertake a mural and artist in residence program for completion during Semester 2.

The Beehive host a bi- annual art exhibition called Arte Ricca; a professionally curated art event run by our strong arts community at Beehive. The art exhibition features a range of art work including painting, photography, sculpture and textiles, with the works ranging in subject and scale from bright, contemporary offerings to more subdued and conceptual pieces.

The school is looking to use the commission from the 2021 exhibition to support the local artistic community, in the form of a mural and artist in residence program.

The Space
The wall space is 16.4m long by 4m at the highest point. This wall faces east toward the newly constructed bike path and is visible from both Stirling Highway and the Fremantle to Perth train line. Subject matter would need to be large scale for this level of visibility, and complement the existing mural to the south of this site and maintain the native flora and fauna theme.

This would also include time to run artist in residence workshop sessions (x 5) with our Primary and Adolescent Students.

What to submit:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Examples of previous works undertaken
